While some say bad habits are hard to break, I feel it is really that good habits are hard to make. Bad habits are just the ones we fall back into when we decide to stop fighting the fight. Our bad habits are our comfort zone, the familiar and the easy. The good habits are an exercise in self control, self awareness and discipline. Ugh, discipline. That’s so hard!
I wake up each day with a plan to create good habits and take small daily actions to reinforce and establish those habits. Some days are better then others. I am happy to know that “if we do fail now and then, we should by no means loose hope, for the law is absolute and invincible and gives us credit for every effort and every success, even though our efforts and successes are perhaps intermittent.” MKE 21.18
The key is to “do a thing, then do it again, and again, and again, until it becomes easy and perhaps almost automatic.” MKE 21:18 In this way new habits are formed. So, I greet this day with love in my heart, I persist until I succeed, I recognize the miracle that started but did not end with my birth and I live this day as if it is my last and greatest day to be who I will to be! I always keep my promises.
Love and light, Marda
Since a bad habit must be replaced by a good one, I think you are totally correct. If the good one were easier, we’d already have it instead of the bad one.
